Cause and Effect

I went into a store today, and a cat followed me through out.
Yes a real cat, one with black paws and a black spotted nose.

I am allergic to cats.

This cat got as close to me as it could, my entire visit to this store.

I am not really a cat person.

The owner remarked how this cat was in need of constant loving,
and this sometimes upset his customers.

I was upset,

not because I dislike cats so much,
but because it was beginning to make me itch.

I smiled at the owner and said, "Awe."

My throat was starting to itch.

I left.

I know this is an average reaction to a cat,

my reason for telling this story has a point and I will get to it.

I didn't tell the shop owner I was allergic to his cat,
I didn't tell him I was itching and my throat was closing...

I just left.

I think we get into situations where we don't want to share our allergies.

The shop owner may think I was rude, or disliked his store but the truth is

I am allergic to cats, no doubt, but I felt no reason to share this information.

This man was so oblivious to folks with allergies I don't think he would have believed me.

How many times have you just chosen just to leave so you do not have to explain yourself?

It's not in the leaving there is a problem it is with those we leave with no explanation.

The mind of the one being left, will go to the negative, and we build on that.

It can be blown out in such proportions it would scare anyone.

As a child I was given explanations for most things.

I do remember those which were NOT explained caused me the most heart ache.

So if you have the need to leave in a hurry,

go somewhere unexpected,

or you've just gotten an allergic reaction to something....

don't just leave,

explain...

you will cause one less heart ache in this world...

and isn't that what life is all about?

Cause and Effect.

Peace and love,
Janice

  1. Truth is so undervalued! Love love love your way with words...so simple yet so profound...this is So So true...giving an honest and truthful explanation is the greatest gift you can give...
